Scene painting [[Improv Terms|improv opening]] as taught by Kate Zelensky: 1. Someone steps out and asks for a [[Improv Terms|suggestion]]. 2. Three separate "spaces" are created based on the suggestion. 3. The first player who steps out to name the first space decides whether to present in a "Narrative" style or in character. 4. Begin with either "We are in a __. __" or "Welcome to my __ __." 5. Players tag in and out to share the description of the space. 6. Emphasize physical descriptions, with some emotion allowed. 7. Avoid placing people in the environment. 8. When starting a second or third space, the player should enter the stage as far away from the current player on stage as possible. 9. When you feel the third space is complete, give a [[Improv Terms|sweep edit]]. 10. Avoid letting these descriptions go epically long.
