Review
Help me write a review of the game Tangle Tower. Have introduction describing the game and genre folllowed by a paragraph of pros and cons followed by a conclusion paragraph. Be thorough.
Here are notes:
Purchased this game on a whim due to the sale and high-effort clearly on display in the trailer. I certainly wasn't disappointed! Went through it in one weekens with my partner casually helping. A little under 6 hours for the whole experience, including listening to all the voice acting.
Like any good murder mystery, the best part is the eccentric characters you meet along the way. All of the characters are interesting in their own way and the work put into their dialog, lots of chcaracter animation, and voice acting really shines through. There are secrets and reveals
For the mystery and puzzles themselves, they're not too challenging and still they're not so brain-dead as to feel like mere activities between point A and point B. Even the puzzles are great! Some are tougher that the others, but most are quite doable and even unique!! (would love to have even more puzzles but thats on me). Even the characters are well written and have their own personality.
In order to complete the game, you'll have to find the 'suspicion' for every character - your accusatory statement for something they've been lying about, and for several characters these are good but for a few the suspicion is so inconsequential or obvious (Example, very minor spoiler: ) that they wrap around to being difficult to trigger. Thankfully, when this is the case there is a hint system to tell you who to talk to or where to investigate next, and since the game lacks nonsensical 'Use X on Y' puzzles, and you can ask every character about every clue for an attempt at a lead, even this likely won't be necessary for most playthroughs.
Top notch. Writing, music, and art are all brilliant, and the puzzles are actually fun.
I would play again! Tangle Tower is a sheer delight all the way through. Its artstyle, animations, voice acting, and overall personality is extremely impressive. The game sets out to tell a story using all manner of audio and video, and it does so with flying colors. I almost played the entirety of Tangle Tower in one sitting because I was so hooked into the characters and strange locale of this world. This game is an absolute must-play from an artistic perspective alone.

Has anyone else played Tangle Tower? 🤔 I recently picked it up on sale and it was fun! It's a quirky murder mystery video game set in a fantastical world, with charming and whimsical artsy graphics and an amazing soundtrack. 🎶
I played through it over a couple of days with Casey–while he was playing Breath of the Wild on his Switch–and we both really enjoyed it. Everything is fully voice acted and that was so good that Casey found himself getting sucked into the story too! (and solving puzzles for me when I got stuck 😂)
You get to explore a world filled with quirky characters, gather clues, and solve puzzles to uncover the "suspicions" of each character. Basically, that means you get to challenge a character on something they were hiding. It's challenging but not too hard, and the puzzles fit in perfectly with the story and characters.
I played on PC–but I think there are also Switch and phone versions.

Steam Review:
Tangle Tower is a fun and quirky game where you get to solve a murder mystery in a fantastical world. The game has a charming and whimsical style that drew me in right away.
You get to sleuth your way through a world filled with quirky characters and whimsical wonders. You'll have to gather clues by searching high and low, interact with puzzling objects, and put your brains to the test to uncover the “suspicions” of each character—moments where they didn't tell the whole truth. Not only that, but you challenge them with a fill in the blanks style sentence including a few phrases, objects, or details of an object. The voice actors will read these even if it's wrong!
The map system lets you bounce around and explore every nook and cranny of the Tangle Tower. The setting is its hand-drawn art style and the whimsical soundtrack is incredibly catchy and well-done, adding to the fun and fantasy.
The characters are all unique and have their own funny quirks that made me laugh and kept me engaged throughout the game. One of my favorite parts of Tangle Tower is the puzzles. They are challenging but not too hard, and they fit in perfectly with the story and characters. I love that you get to use your brain to figure out clues and solve mysteries. It reminds me of another game I love, King's Quest. In fact, I enjoyed Tangle Tower so much that I immediately played the previous game in the Detective Grimoire series. (Also loved, especially since it was a bit different)
The art style and animations in Tangle Tower are also top-notch. Everything is colorful and detailed, and it's clear that a lot of effort went into making this game. The voice acting is also excellent and adds a lot to the characters and story.
There are a few downsides to the game, such as some suspicions for adding character development but not always servicing the plot or main bit of intrigue. The hint system and the ability to ask every character about every clue make it easy to keep moving forward.
Overall, I highly recommend Tangle Tower to anyone who loves adventure and mystery games, puzzles, and whimsical stories and characters.
